The Ministry of Environment will open new areas of Yala National Park, including a new Arangamuwa zone and the currently closed zones 3 and 4.
Minister of Environment Dammika Patabendi stated that the move aims to ease tourist congestion.
Accordingly, of Yala’s 100,000 hectares, only 25,000 are currently accessible to visitors.
