Sri Lanka welcomed 75,358 tourists during the first two weeks of September 2025, reflecting steady momentum in the country’s tourism sector.

With this addition, the total tourist arrivals for 2025 have reached 1,641,881 visitors. India continues to play a dominant role as the leading source market, reaffirming its significant contribution to Sri Lanka’s ongoing tourism recovery. Other key markets include the United Kingdom, China, and Germany, which are steadily growing in importance.

Tourism authorities note that consistent arrivals signal strong international interest in Sri Lanka as a preferred travel destination. This performance also aligns with the government’s broader strategy to strengthen tourism earnings, diversify source markets, and enhance the overall visitor experience.

Industry stakeholders remain optimistic that September will maintain positive momentum, adding to the overall growth trajectory leading into the final quarter of 2025.
