Sri Lanka recorded robust inflows of workers’ remittances in October 2025, according to the latest data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
The CBSL reported that the country received US$ 712 million in workers’ remittances in October alone.
This contributed to a total remittance inflow of US$ 6.52 billion for the period spanning January to October 2025, marking a significant 20.1% increase compared to the corresponding ten-month period in the previous year.
Furthermore, the Central Bank’s official data shows that tourism earnings have exceeded the two billion dollar mark for the first nine months of the year.
Total tourism revenue from January to September 2025 was recorded at US$ 2.47 billion, reflecting a 5.3% increase when compared to the US$ 2.34 billion earned during the same period in 2024.
