World Bank discusses Colombo Fort Tourism Zone development

The World Bank has discussed potential support for developing Colombo Fort as a tourism zone while preserving its historic heritage.

The discussions were held at the Presidential Secretariat between World Bank officials and the President’s Chief of Staff Prabath Chandrakeerthi.

The World Bank also expressed readiness to support Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, including nature-based tourism and tourism development in the Northern and Eastern provinces.

Potential support for sectors including agribusiness, ports and logistics, and energy was also discussed.
