Vietjet has launched new air services connecting Hanoi, Vietnam, with Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Prague, Czech Republic, via Almaty, marking the airline’s entry into the European Union and expanding its international network.

The inaugural services were celebrated on 10 October 2026 at Almaty International Airport and Václav Havel Airport Prague. The new routes operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.

The development also expands travel options for Sri Lankan passengers through Vietjet’s growing network. The airline has operated direct flights between Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City since August 2026, three times a week. Its Ho Chi Minh City–Maldives service via Colombo is scheduled to commence on 5 December 2026.

The new connections provide additional travel opportunities between Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Europe, supporting tourism, trade and cultural exchange. Passengers can access Business and SkyBoss services, alongside a range of Vietnamese and international cuisine onboard.

Vietjet said it plans to continue expanding its international services, improving connectivity between Asia, Europe and Australia while welcoming more international visitors to Vietnam.
