The annual tourism exhibition Sancharaka Udawa 2026 officially commenced today (15) at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, bringing together local tourism stakeholders and more than 100 international travel buyers and agents.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, who welcomed the Prime Minister, the chief guest of the event, before delivering an address during the ceremony.
Following the opening, the Deputy Minister also joined an exhibition tour showcasing Sri Lanka’s tourism products and services.
A key highlight of the first day was the panel discussion on destination marketing, featuring several international tourism experts including Katherine Droga, Jasmeet Singh, Shouvik Roy, Dillip Rajakarier, and Buddhika Hewawasam. The discussion was moderated by Dhananath Fernando.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of tourism industry professionals over the two-day exhibition.
The second day of Sancharaka Udawa 2026 will be held tomorrow (16), with the Minister of Tourism scheduled to attend as the chief guest for the day’s opening ceremony.
