New terminal to ease passenger congestion at BIA

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation has announced plans to construct a new passenger terminal at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, aiming to ease congestion and cater to growing passenger volumes.

Minister Nimal Siripala Silva stated that the development, of the new terminal will play a crucial role in reducing passenger traffic at the existing terminal which has been experiencing significant strain in recent years.
